I first meet Your Favourite Enemies earlier this year at the JUNO AWARDS Nominees press conference. For some reason we hit it off right away, I like the attitude of the band, they were fun to talk with and full of energy.
YFE were just announced as a nominee for Rock Album of The Year. I have to admit I had no idea who they were or what their music was like. Shortly after the press conference I looked YFE up on google and started to view their videos. The first I saw was Open Your Eyes my first thought was, this is good, really good and I began to see that their nomination for Rock Album the Year was deserved. My first opportunity to see YFE live was in the Hammer as part of JUNOFEST. I was pretty pumped up to see if there music and performance matched their videos, it did! Right from the start they came out supersonic, driving in your face, bouncing around on the stage, hair flying around (OK I’m a bit jealous, not much hair to swirl around) you can’t help but get caught up in the action! Fast forward to the end of April, YFE are on a short tour with one Canadian stop, Lee's Palace in TO, frickin bonus, another chance to see if I was just caught up in a new found band and music! Not caught up, another outstanding performance, another thoroughly enjoyable show! You can tell YFE loves their songs, they love to perform, and they bring total passion to their performance which the audience feeds off. I love the YFE vibe; you can tell they are friends, enjoying a journey that I hope grows, if you are a rock fan, I hope you check them out someday. I really like Alex’s and Miss Isabel’s voices, they work well together, a bit like “evanescence”, Ben also provides good harmonies with Alex. YFE is a band that works well together. Your Favourite Enemies are Alex Foster, Miss Isabel, Jeff Beaulieu, Ben Lemelin, Sef, Charles Allicie... Some more vidoes... A View From Within and I Just Want You To Know.
