Famed entertainment photographer and video director Andrew MacNaughtan travelled to Kenya and Tanzania in 2010 to capture the beauty of the land, wildlife, and people in a series of black and white photographs.
These images have showcased in a new book, GRACE: Africa in Photographs". Andrew then enlisted the help of friends in the recording industry to lend their poetic voice to several of the images. More than 30 artists including Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Bryan Adams, Annie Lennox, Daniel Lanois, Fefe Dobson, Ed Robertson, Jann Arden, Lights, Nikki Yanofsky and Tom Cochrane to name a few, graciously provided commnetary to photos that inspired them.
Andrew hopes to raise funds through the sales of the book available at his Art Gives Hope website or you can directly sponsor a child for $40/month, details to do this can be found out via emailing World Vision.
Andrew's goal is to raise enough funds or have enough direct sponsors to support 500 African children... This is a challange to fans of the artists let's help Andrew reach his goal!
Alex and Geddy were in attendance... I took a great pic of Geddy and Kim Mitchell... I had a great talk with Alex but he and Ged left before I could take a picture of them with their photos (sorry)... other RUSH notables in attendance were Hugh Syme and Dale Heslip... I managed to get pics of producer Russ Mackay and artists Kim Mitchell and Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies... Divine Brown was in the house just as I was leaving...
RUSH fans let's show everyone how it is done... both Geddy and Alex were more than happy to partake and support this worthy project... the book is amazing, the pics and commentary from various artists make Andrew's journey through Africa very interesting...
